Obra Trascender is an original and innovative pedagogic model that grew out of the cooperation between the University of San Buenaventura that initially provided the project, and the Infancy First Program, running a pilot in cooperation with a public school in Cali.
The model that was created uses art and play as tools for child development and learning. They encourage free expression and association as a guide used by the teachers to create the central theme and the work plan. The imagination of the child leads the process, cementing principles, and values along the way.
Beginning at the age of 3 and throughout elementary school, children come to the foundation and rotate through 8 different workshops. These are strategically designed and include music, plastic arts, strategy games(chess), history and culture, literature, theater, social, and technology workshops.
Obra Trascender counts as part of the academic curriculum granted from the institutions that participate with the program and the children participate 4 hours per week.
Trascender is a safe space where children develop their attention, memory and concentration through art and play.
